eASEE - System Architecture

System architecture:
eASEE is a 3-tier client/server system in which data, application logic, and presentation are separate from each other. The data itself is further divided into meta data, which is managed in the central Oracle database, and reference data, which is saved in one or more file repositories. These can be stored at different sites. This architecture allows:

• Globally distributed development teams through Global Team Support
• Data consistency, referential integrity, and synchronization of parallel access through the Oracle database
• Increased security and advanced scalability through separation of meta data and reference data
• Rich clients featuring intuitive operation with the look and feel of Windows
• Customer or application-specific plug-ins can be added to standard functionality. They can be implemented on both the server-side and client-side
• Simple administration with global distribution
  

System environment:

• Client: Windows 2000 SP1, Windows NT SP5 or Windows XP with at least 512 MB RAM
• Application server: Tomcat with Windows NT4/2000/XP or Linux, or WebSphere with Linux with at least 1 GB RAM. WebSphere 6 or Tomcat 5.5
• Database server: All platforms supported by Oracle such as Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, or Linux with at least 8 GB RAM. Oracle server
• Repository server: Windows NT4 / 2003 / XP / 2000
