.MOST Option for CANalyzer 7.0

The Analysis Tool for MOST Networking

CANalyzer.MOST is a convenient tool for analyzing the MOST bus with the familiar "look and feel" of the Vector tools. CANalyzer.MOST can be operated as a spy for pure analysis or as master or slave in the MOST ring. Thanks to CANalyzer's multibus functionality the features for the CAN bus can be used in parallel.

Primary Functions
CANalyzer.MOST provides the following analysis functions:

  • Audio Routing
  • Central Registry
  • Access to the full bandwidth of the synchronous channels
  • Disassembly via XML Function Catalog
  • Filtering by Configurable Blocks
  • Triggering on MOST messages
  • Filtering and Triggering by CAPL
  • Logging

NEW: Access to the full bandwidth of the synchronous channels

  • The newest version of CANalyzer allows full access to the synchronous area on MOST. Independent of the current synchronous boundary control all synchronous channels can be streamed via USB to the PC and vice versa. Having this access CANalyzer.MOST can cover a huge number of new use cases.
The application note MOST Synchronous Channel Access describes this more detailed.

Interactive Analysis

  • In the Trace Window you can observe the data of the control and asynchronous channels that are transmitted via MOST messages. For comprehensible display these data are interpreted with the help of the XML Function Catalog. Thanks to the integrated combiners also segmented data like AMS and MOST High Protocol are displayed.
Color highlighting shows important MOST events and allows an easy analysis of the bus communication on the MOST ring.
  • The Central Registry describes the current ring. It is displayed in a separate window and can comfortably be checked against a reference registry.
  • Important hardware and network states, e.g. light and lock, configuration status, node addresses or bus load are displayed in the Status Window and the Bus Statistics Window respectively.
  • Data values can be viewed numerically or graphically by selecting properties from the XML Function Catalog and displaying them in the Data and/or Graphic Windows.
  • The Interactive Generator Block for MOST allows you to send messages and sequences via CMS or AMS. After selecting the message from the XML Function Catalog, even complex parameters can be set comfortably.
  • Use the Stress Window to generate bus load conveniently on the control and asynchronous channels as well as to apply light and lock sequences.
  • During the transmission of audio data in the synchronous part of the MOST message their channels can be selected for listening. Otherwise it is also possible to feed audio data into the ring.

Automated Analysis

  • Use the Replay Block and Macro Recorder for e.g. reproducible sending of message sequences onto the ring or for executing user input sequences.
  • The integrated CAPL programming language supports analysis and synthesis of messages, as well as access to the registers of the network controller OS8104 and all network states. Furthermore, stress functions can be started and be integrated into test sequences.
  • The Logging Block records control messages, packets of the asynchronous channel, network states and OS8104 register changes, each with precise time stamps. Offline mode assists in later visual or automated analysis of the total system.
