2009-10-05: MDF Validator 1.6

The MDF Validator is supplied free-of-charge by Vector and can be used to visualise and validate the structure of an MDF (Measurement Data Format) file. The tool is used to check if an MDF file was written according to specifications. The tool also offers a clear view of the MDF file structure. The following new features are included in the current version 1.6.2:

  • Support of the MDF Specification version 3.3: new block type SRBLOCK, support of code page number (including conversion of strings)
  • Tool bar for faster access to commands
  • Back/forward navigation with extra mouse buttons (similar to most browsers)
  • New HexView window that can be opened from context menu commands of tree view / node list or with Search Address
  • New splash screen / about box including dialog "more info" with details about file paths and versions
  • Usage of long channel name as name of tree node
  • Allow multi-selection in file open box
  • New file extensions (*.mf3, *.mf4)
  • Improved check for ASAP2 V1.5 conformity of channel names
